Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandfather taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the detrimental comments from other people annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil began competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an eternal passion for poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
