Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the adverse feedback from others annihilate his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.

Phil started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and a continuing love for poker. He says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
