NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker contender on the planet by most of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse comments from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He started playing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable love for poker. Phil says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to improve.
Even though Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
